How would you tell someone to not use the "ты" for with you? Example, if someone said, "Ты хочешь?" and I would rather them be formal...Like, literally, "Don't 'ты' me!

Cold: мы с вами на "ты" не переходили | мы на брудершафт не пили
Polite: пожалуйста, обращайтесь ко мне на "вы" | я предпочел бы общаться на "вы"

Isn't there a whole arm linking ceremony that you do when you finally use the (don't have Cyrillic fonts on my work computer) tyi form? Or is that in Germany?

Well, there is. It's called: "drinking for brudershaft" (I'm not quite sure in spelling), "pit' na brudershaft", "пить на брудершафт", and naturally origins in Germany. This ceremony is not necessary, though.
