it's summer!
May. 22nd, 2005 11:50 pmHi all! I'm a Russian student, and I would love it if some of you would give me recommendations for reading material for the summer.
I've taken two years of Russian, and so far I can understand short stories, poems, and songs with the aid of a dictionary - nothing too long or archaic yet. I need to improve my vocabulary and reading skills because I will probably be doing a history research project involving Russian sources in the fall, and in the spring I hope to go on the SIT program to Russia and do some kind of social research project.
Anything interesting or educational that you'd recommend would be awesome. Thank you!

Date: 2005-05-23 07:55 am (UTC)I can recommend Антона Павловича Чехова (http://www.lib.ru/LITRA/CHEHOW/), he is a well-known master of short stories. The language is somewhat specific (XIX century), but you can always ask for help in this community =)
Also, I higly recommend you to try reading this author: Иван Бунин (http://www.lib.ru/BUNIN/).
