[identity profile] aclarar.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] learn_russian
Hi. Does any one has a nice, not so common, easy to cook, tasty recipe? The Russian department is giving a meal to the rest of the linguistic department and every Russian student has to help with something. I get to help with the food. We are looking for recipes. Like cooking Russian for Dummies.

Thanks.

The above comment has some good ideas in the post it references. There's also Russianfood.com (http://www.russianfood.com) that some of my friends have used and recommended. Personally, there's borsch, vareniki, pierogi, and golubtsy that are tasty options (granted, borsch and vareniki are Ukrainian, but I can't help it, I lived in Kiev). =) If I wasn't so tired and about to collapse right now, I'd be able to think of more.

Hope that helps somewhat.

I am in favor of blini (crepe-like pancakes with various fillings).
