"Russians" in Hollywood

As somewhat of a complement to this topic, I'd like to say a few words about the way Russians are pictured by Hollywood. First of all, they are almost never true Russians so the accent is always fake - and we can recognize that right away. But in those rare cases when they do use true Russians, they make them exaggerate their accent to the point that it also sounds fake.
What's more interesting, however, is that probably most of those "Russians", both in Cold war era movies and in more modern ones at one point or another mention "Mother Russia" in their speech.
I can't recall any real Russian ever saying something like that, except, maybe, in a poem or in a literary composition.

If Jews were playing a special Jewish version of Chess, YES. If they were using all scientific grant money to historically validate the Torah, YES. You cannot compare television with Chess.

Do you deny that the entertainment media have a powerful influence on people? Do you deny that it should therefore be more balanced, in its ideas and the people it represents? Do you believe that I should be judged based on how Hollywood behaves?

I can't say this any clearer. . I also ♥ Russians, a lot. But I wouldn't want to be told "You're an idiot who flies around with space aliens" because of what somebody saw in Лиловый Шар.

I would dearly love to remind that it' learn_russian what we're doing here. There's plenty of other places for political discussions. At least, let's stick to Russian political issues if we seriously learn_russian here. As a Russian who lives in Russia (though I visit the U.S. from time to time, as well as several other countries,) I could not care less about which U.S. ethnic majority prewails in which part of U.S.show business (or any other business.) I think that this is alsp true for many others here.

I agree with you, I don't care either. But why is everyone telling -me- not to discuss politics; I'm only defending myself from the unsolicited anti-american attacks people are making. Yell at aclarar for unnecessary roughness.

Said above means every participant of this barking session. BTW you don't have to defend yourself since you - you personally - are home, safe and comfortable. It is letters on your computer screen that you try to defend. Are letters on the screen worth it?
