Hi all. I'll be teaching an interpreting class in Russian soon, and since it's a new course we don't have many resources yet. Does anyone know where I can find video files (mpg and the likes) of Russian speeches or texts? I found Putin's web site but I need something else as well. Any ideas?

Yeah, I wanted to give the same advise because actors at least have proper articulacy. I`d go for movies.... also entertaining.

Thanks for the links. Movies aren't good for teaching interpreting for many reasons: the vocabulary is all wrong, the speakers keep changing, the text isn't long enough etc. But thanks for trying :)

if you're interested, i have a bunch of old soviet children's records, some of which have only one actor reading the whole thing throughout (ведущий или сказочник) - let me know if you'd like to get some of those mp3's. You might also try to find russian audio-books - there are a lot of them where a voice just read out a book.

there are video files on most tv channel web sites. try rtr, ntv, rbc-tv, and others.
