I'm thinking of applying to a Middlebury Language School, and I was *again* just wondering whether or not anyone here in this community has been to the Middlebury Russian School. You know, insights, ups, downs, and whether or not it's appropriate for a young 'un like myself fresh out of high school.

I was admitted to the graduate program a couple of years ago and a friend of mine taught there last summer. The best statement I can make is that it is definitely the most effective program in the United States for rapidly improving all facets of Russian-language ability, and it's better than a fair number of programs in Russia, too. If I were a beginning student of Russian and improving language ability (rather than cultural stuff) was my primary objective, I'd choose the Language School over a trip to Moscow or Petersburg.
