My Life will not be complete until I find out how to say 'My Bright Dawn, my Red Sun and my Dark Midnight' in Russian.
I also need to find a page that has Yevgeny Yevtushenko poems in Russian especially Colours.

ok im a russian student of a year of self teaching, so this is just me going out on a limb and someone needing to correct me okay?

I think it would be along the lines of:

"Мой светий рассвет, мой красний сольце и моя темная полночь."

Someone please correct me and tell me where I went horribly wrong lol. Also, if you need it in roman letters because you don't read cyrillic, you can also let me know...

Dawn can be translated as Заря

I'd like to say it as
Заря ясная, солнце красное и ночь темная

sounds good for folklore texts, spells & so on

If the source is a particular fairy tale, the translation may be different, but the closest thing I can think of is:

Мой ясный рассвет, моё красное солнце(солнышко), моя темная полночь.

Moy yasny rassvet, moyo krasnoye solntze(solnyshko), moya temnaya polnoch'.

You tried to say "мой светлый рассвет", which is technically correct, but is in poor style, as both words have the same root "свет" and thus sound awkward together.

The other thing you tried to say should be "моё красное солнце(солнышко)". Note the neutral gender. BTW, here "красное" means not "red", but "beautiful", as in Red Square.

"моя темная полночь" is fine. :)

Thanks! I couldn't think of another word for bright, so I tried light lol. And I forgot solntse was neuter... i thought it was masculine for some reason for a second even though I know that it isn't lol.

The original meaning of "красный" in Old Russian is "beautiful" (same root as "красивый" or "прекрасный"). Hence, our Russian ancestors in the 17th century did not name (http://moscow.gramota.ru/map502.shtml) the Red Square "Red" because the foresaw the triumph of the Soviet Union. :) Rather, there were a lot of beautiful buildings constructed around the place that was previously an open air market with questionable hygiene. In fact, the wooden trading booths used to burn a lot, so the same location was also called "Пожар".

Hmm no wonder i've always had trouble remembering the difference when I read things. I always think it means red because I just glance over the word, but then when I go back and it doesn't make sense i read it as beautiful and all is well in the world again lol.

Светлый рассвет. Hm. it sounds a liitle bit stupid.

Моё Красное Солнце (but "солнце моё красное" sounds much better)

in russian this sounds like "my dark 12:00PM" ;) "Моя темная ночь"

I thought about "темная ночь" too, but a Yandex search produces a number of hits on "темная полночь", and it's not incorrect. Would you vouch that the original source could not say that?

It's not quite correct. Literally it must look like:

Мой ясный рассвет, моё красное солнце, моя тёмная полночь.

But if this is the frase from old folklore fairy tale (and I think it is), then to keep a style it must look like this:

Зоренька моя ясная, солнышко моё красное, ноченька моя тёмная.

My native language is Russian, so If you fix my mistakes in my "English" I would be grateful.
