Question...
Jul. 28th, 2004 07:13 pmFinally got a Russian Learn-By-CD program, and it raised a few questions (before I actually have listened to the CDs).
I always assumed that ть was pronounced like English th... but is it, or is it just an aspirated t?

When you spell "t" your tongue touches high part of your mouth (don't know the translation of this organ :).
When you spell "ть" your tongue touches lower part.
Take your tongue up and press on teeth. It's "t". Put your tongue down and press on teeth. It's "ть".
Same system for "l" and "ль" etc.
