Newbie! Здравствуыте! Меня зобут Allison...and I really have to learn russian because I'm skipping Russian 1 and going into Russian 2 in my school (we actually just lost the Russian 1 class anyway because of lack of students, so no choice on my part). Well...I'm not doing so well, thanks to sharing 1 textbook between 2 of us and being very busy. But today I met with some kids who actually ARE taking Russian 1 and the teacher and they spoke in russian...and it was very cool. So I'm really excited and I want to learn more, faster and better (plus now I have more time and we just got a new textbook). So a few things...

1 - Any way to make all those darned consonants roll off the tongue easier? (I speak spanish so I'm used to lots of vowls and slurring everything together, and russian sounds a bit strange in comparison)
2 - I don't know script (and yes, I'm embarrassed)...are there any good websites for helping out with that?

I'm sure I'll have more questions later but as of right now I'm done. :) Thank you in advance!

Wanna advice? If you change the name to Alice, for example, the number of people who want to teach you will be infinite ;) This is how the stuff works...

Don't mind :) Just strange thoughts caused by an influence of some alcohol.
But if you want I could help you to learn, I'm online time to time.

hi,

theres a goodsite that has russian alphabet and links to sites related to russian - its - www.omniglot.com - just go to A-Z of languages - a very cool site.....as for all those clusters of consonants, like 'vzglad' (glance) and so forth, they just roll off the tongue with some practise as some function almost like vowels - hope this helps.....
