We are not given a chance to foretell
How our words will echo -
And the sympathy (of others) is given to us
Like Grace (only)...

Аршином общим не измерить:
У ней особенная стать -
В Россию можно только верить.

Russia cannot be understood mentally
And cannot be measured with common measure:
It has a build of its own -
It can only be believed in.
May be, the most famous poem by the author. May be, one of the most famous Russian poems at all. "The misterious Russian soul" concept and all that. Well written and aphoristic, but is it true? As for me, I doubt that. Now it is sometimes cited with a touch of irony, rather than with awe. :o)
Аршин - arsheen, arshin, arshine = an old Russian measure of length; equals 2 ft. 4 in. Set expression мерить на свой аршин means to measure by one's own bushel.
у ней = у неё; у ней - is archaic and now vernacular.

Besides, the "Silentium!" piece is definitely worth studying, but it's rather complicated; however you can read it here (in the original) and here (translated into English; "Traduttore, traditore", and yet it might help). The most often quoted line from this piece is "Мысль изречённая есть ложь." = "An idea expressed is a lie." For the information of those who have not read the whole poem: that is - with the means of communication that imperfect one should not expect others to understand him; so don't waste your spark of divine fire and shut your mouth - others won't comprehend anyway. :o)
