Привет! new to the community and i know next to absolutely no russian, but i'm incredibly fascinated! i've always been interested in russia and its culture, but with the advent of тату, i've had a whole introduction to the language! i purposely learned how to change my computer's language mode to russian in attempts to catch on if that says anything...

well, i'm listening to "200|по встречной" and i'm curious...what are the russian titles of the english 'clowns', 'stars', and 'show me love'? i've worked with an online translator to get the direct tranlations of the all the russian titles, but none of them remotely recall the titles i'm looking for. any help is much appreciated!

Well, I dont have the English version of the cd, but I think I've figured out which ones are which from the lyrics: Clowns would be "Клоуны", Show Me Love is definitely "Я твоя не первая" (I am not your first) and Stars I dont think was ever done in Russian? I could be wrong about that.

yeah, i was thinking it might be one of those, but i found a site with the english lyrics to "stars" and it includes a sax solo and a russian rap, neither of which i've heard in any of the russian taty songs i have!

Oh man, you're right! When I was thinking of "Зачем я" I was only thinking about the pretty part in the beginning-- I forgot she stars rapping later! Good call :)

Yes, I am. But... maybe there isn't such a song on your cd?
I've found the lyrics, maybe you'll recognize the words...

First 10 lines are a telephone conversation

Wouh, a lot of spelling mistakes in the lyrics. I'm sorry, I didn't check it before sending...

Ups, you're right. I don't have the album but when the song is broadcast on radio the djs always say I've just asked my colleagues if they know tatu's song я твоя не первая. they said no. What about покажи мне любовь? I asked then. Oh, sure! was the answer.
Let's say покажи мне любовь is a public version of the title:))

Right-- those are the same song. The title on my CD was "Я твоя не первая" but the chorus is "покажи мне любов". So maybe they switched the title at some point?

I've been wondering about this word: аллё. I always hear it in the beginning of the song, and I assume it comes from hello or French allô (which I *believe* comes from hello). Any insights? Is it said commonly in Russia?

Björk rocks! And so does Tatu. Are you a member of any of the Tatu communities?

Well, you seem to be a fan but I won't force you =Þ I recommend [livejournal.com profile] codetatu. I think I'm a member of two, and I read and comment in both of them but I only comment in [livejournal.com profile] codetatu because it was the first one and I have loyalty to it.

No prob! There's usually only one update or so a week, but it would be cool to pump some life into it!

About the song. In the beginning of it there is a telephone conversation between the girls. Something like this:

hello
hello
do you like wind?
so what?
look out at the window
so what?
it was sunny yesterday
so what?
what are you always saying the same?
I am an answering machine

When you answer the phone in Russia you always say алло or аллё. It's used only in the beginning of telephone conversations. Though... There is an informal (and not very polite) phrase: аллё, гараж! used when the person you speak with (couldn't find an English equivalent for собеседник, sorry) doesn't understand obvious things.

Ups. Excuse my English. Should be "WHY are you always saying the same"
