Recently I stumbled acrtoss this group, Ithink looking for some information about Kamchatka....

Anyways, I am a Canadian studying Russian in Minsk, Belarus, at the linguistek university. Been here since april and I'll stay until first of June. Also, I'm teaching english to pay the beer and such.

Just though I'd introduce myself, as I actually only know two other native english speakers in the city here now. My Russian is only imtermediate - I began here with nothing, so I'm not likely of much help unless its some questions about Belarus.

Anyways, nice to see you all here interested in russian. As a side note though, I've been sort of looking for a good pocket book for russian grammer, or at least sometihng more advanced than a phrase book - but that I can read or flip through on the bus or train ect. Any advice? or any good related pdf resources out there online of use?

Good luck all, and if there happens by chance to be anyone in Minsk or passing through also on here send a note! Also - I'm sort of curious how many are active in the russian social networking sites like kontakte? Its great fun sending russian messages to my belarussian friends, though of course better when I party with them in person. :)

Cheers!

Johnny in Minsk. Oh and think anyone is going to give me a job where I can practice my russian after all this work? I mean I already speak english, french and a some basic german...
