I recently made a friend in my department who has offered to tutor me in Russian. I'm completely self-taught and would probably be somewhere in the middle of my first semester of Beginning Russian if I were in a formal class. I own a couple of textbooks (which I'm working through) and tapes, as well as a dictionary, but I don't really know where to start. What is the best way to make use of a fluent language tutor when you're beginning Russian?

Hi,

Would anyone living in the south bay area, California, be interested in exchanging Russian conversation lessons for English conversation lessons :)?

I'm a Russian native speaker, so I can easily help you with your homework, speak Russian with you, etc. I'm not sure I'll be able to explain all the "formal" language rules to you, as it's been long since I studied them.
In exchange I'd like to practice my conversational English with a native English speaker.

Interested, anyone?

1) What's the name of that children's TV show that they would show during Soviet times every night before they would go to sleep? There was a song that was played at the end of every show, and I'm pretty sure there was a moon and stars against a blue background or something like that. There was also usually just a woman, and her puppet friends. Anyone know what I'm talking about? (Also, what's the name of the song?)

2) What's the difference between увлечение and развлечение?

Thanks!
