For the number тысяча, would it still remain in its genitive form if preceeded by a number, say восемь, but the sentence itself would have the восемь in the dative?

Ex: Я завидую восми тысяче девушкам. (sorry for the randomness)

Hi! I am writting a letter to my friend in Tatarstan and I need some help with a few phrases. Thanks in advance!

  • Describing authorship: I mailed her a bunch of CDs and now I want to tell her about them. So, how would I say like "the disk by Leonard Cohen"? I suppose I could put his name in genitive case, like: "диск Леонарда Коэна." But then again, I would like to put his name in English because who is this "Леонард Коэн" guy?!?!

  • How do I say "airplane ticket" and "train ticket"? I know that "билет" is ticket but I don't know how to attach the mode of transportation to it ...

  • What is the gender of the city Казань?

Also, she uses the word "здорово" a lot, which I am told means like "fun." I have never heard this word spoken, but I am under the impression that it has a different accent than the word "здорОво" (accent on the 2nd "О") which means like "healthy." So, where does the accent go when it means like "fun"?

Thank you!

Напишите мне, пожалуйста, список русских сайтов, которые вы считали бы полезными для изучения русского языка.
Спасибо.

Could you please give me a list of sites that you would consider useful for (intermediate and advanced) learners of Russian.
Thanks.

Recently, I changed my keyboard software around so I could use my Russian keyboard in AIM and ICQ. In order to do this, I had to switch from a special ASDF/АСДФ mode to the regular ASDF/ФЫВА mode. I'm inexperienced in this new mode; I find myself pecking at the keys like a hungry hen. Are there any online tutorial-type things for practicing the Russian keyboard, or will I simply have to practice on my own?

Is here anyone who'd like to learn, improve and practice russian language in russian-speaking
european communities (for example in european russian-speaking regions)? In this case you'll be able to
completely plunge into language studying (with professional teachers and native-speakers), live
in russian speaking communities, learn russian culture and at the same time you'll stay in Europe
and there will be no need for you to go far away from your home-country (to Russia, Ukraine and so on).
