And please, can we pause the вы/Вы debate for now?
It seems as ambigous as whether or not it is correct to use "their" in English instead of "his or her": I've heard qualified opinions both for and against "their".
In pre-Soviet orthography, Вы as the polite form of addressing a single person was unconditionally capitalised.
Nowadays, it's somewhat confusing.
When this question was asked in
pishu_pravilno, 2 people said the polite вы should not be extensively capitalised except when addressing a definite single person (which is, more or less, my point of view which no one here seems to agree with), one person said it always should be, and one person, that "it depends on your regard of whomever you're talking to".
Honestly, I doubt that we'll get anywhere with this argument. :(
