Wonderful! Is there any hope for me? I cannot even pronounce the name of your President or say "hello". I don't seem to have an ear for the Russian language but truly want to learn. I would be happy if I could write simple sentences.

I was in the top 1% in my graduating college years ago class but now I have a 15 year old grandson.

Absolutely. Everybody starts from the very beginning you know. Start with the Russian Alphabet and Russian sounds and then go over to simple lessons and dialogs.

May I ask you why on your site you have different variations of red, blue and _green_ around the word "Russian" ?
For instance, in "Russian Lessons for Beginners" the word Russian starts with red, then goes blue and the rest is green.
On the "Russian ABC" picture the word Russian finally starts with white, but then goes red and only then goes blue.
It looks very strange taking in account that the mnemonic rule for our flag is "бесик" (белый, синий, красный).
I would expect such a chaotic use of national colors from a foreigner, but seeing that from a tutor is really strange.

Thanks for your kind comment. My idea was to make things more fun and colorful. I didn't have Russian flag colors in mind. Besides my website is not a government site so I can choose whatever colors appeal to me. You mentioned livemocha - nice site however people find that individual lessons like mine are helpful as well. So thanks for your feedback and recommend you english speaking friends to check out russian-plus.com in they're interested in russian:)

Learning a language is never about this way "instead" of that way but rather using all the possible ways. I am learning many languages so believe me I know what I am talking about.
