hope this isn't off-top.. i've been craving Russian cinema lately. anyone know where i can download/buy movies here in the States? i really want to see this one again called Живой that we watched in class. (i found it online awhile back but lost the webpage.) and Ирония судьбы: продолжение. hell i'd love to buy Малыш и Карлсон, the children's cartoon.
it sucks cuz i bought Дневной дозор and this really good drama Двойная фамилия on DVD when i was in Moscow and i keep having to change my computer's region between North American and Russian, and you can only change region a limited # of times.
i just miss Russia/n and movies help.
thanks

upd: yay i found all of Ребро Адама on YouTube! we watched this in class, it was crazy-weird and i loved it.

Lots of old Russian movies are available on Russian torrent-trackers. MOdern movies are usually seriously protected by copyright thus removing from trackers.
But old ones could be found easily.

torrents.ru
kinozal.tv

Buy a second DVD drive to solve the zone problem.

If you don't really need a second DVD drive, you might try downloading the VLC media player. It's free and in my experience, it ignores regions. (Or maybe they claimed to be Region 0? Either way, my computer plays them without trouble.)

sorry to say, but there is software solution. try to spend some minutes on google for "zone-free dvd player software". and many software dvd players just ignore zone setting.

and use rutracker.com instead of torrents.ru :)
