Good day!

I am just curious if anyone knows of a good online Russian-English dictionary that has lots of information, similar to a physical paper dictionary. I wonder if there is one that states gender of a noun, what case the subject of verb takes etc. I've searched it before on google and no such luck. Although I just realized I bet I could search in a regular Russian dictionary... it would still be helpful if someone know of a good Russian-English one.

Thanks very much ;)

If you need an E2R dictionary, look at V. K. Mueller "English-Russian dictionary" one.
If you need a R2E dictionary... hmmm... alas, being a native Russian, I can't evaluate these masterpieses.

Anyway, you are at the right place: if you have any doubts - ask us :-)

I have to make a pitch for a paper dictionary. I know the electronic ones are easier, but they never have as much/as reliable information. And I never had much luck finding what I need. I'm partial to Katzner's english-russian/russian-english, although I also have the oxford and berlitz dictionaries.

the best version of this dictionnary is off-line, but if you don't want to buy it you can use on-line version

And this one http://www.multitran.ru/c/m.exe?&l1=1&l2=2&CL=1&a=0
But it's more suitable for advanced learners, it's interactive and there's no gender((

Multitran is good, but is has some mistakes - so you can't take everything as 100% correct.

Yeah, true. It's interactive - you can make corrections, the moderator can make corrections.
Everything has it's drawbacks - Ligvo in it's turn is waaaay out of date (old dictionaries dumped together and not analysed) but it's good for Elementary learners.
