My new student is only 9, the youngest I've ever had. I would greatly appreciate any recommendations on textbooks and other materials for young Russian learners. Thank you very much!

OK. I strongly recommend him Russian folktales. You can find them in these your Internets. There are a little bit more then a plenty of these tales.

Good advice, and I think, more powerful result will give their audio versions. Listening easy understandable Russian or any other language it's natural way to study them, this way use all children in whole world and eventually they can speak the language natively

The younger, the better. If I were 9 or something, I would prefer movies or radio shows than reading grammar. Live broadcasting is ever helpful to pick up catchwords or habits.

- first please find "Диалоги и словарь" or "Фонетика и грамматика"
- then push on any item e.g. "1. Извините!"
- and in the long run push on "Запустить Урок"(please start this lesson)
