1. обычно я занимаюсь в парке.
2. моя сестра изучает искусство.
3. в каком университете вы учитесь?

- In the prepositional case, do you say "в доме?"

Фёдор пишет письма его друзьям, if they're someone else's friends, not Fedor's; if Fedor's, then своим друзьям

my teacher claims that B is used for physical places and HA is for metaphorical, abstract. so, wouldn't working on a magazine be HA since it's not a clear physical structure that i'm referring to but an abstract one?

Your teacher is right for the prepositional case, but there are bunch of exceptions.

Anyways, "на журнал" is NOT prepositional, in the first place.

And here are the meanings:

"на журнал" = "for the magazine" (i.e., hired for the particular job)

"в журнале" = "in a magazine" (i.e., as an employee in a company)

"над журналом" = "on a magazine" (i.e., you were doing some job on it, and the purpose is irrelevant)

Yes we do, but only if something is located in the house. For "I'm home" you should say "я дома" and for "I work from home" you should say "я работаю на домУ".

In some English writing styles, a question mark adjacent to a closing quotation mark is always placed within the quotation marks, even when it belongs to the sentence as a whole and not to the part that is quoted. So if you were to ask Is this a correct way to say X?, where X is quoted, the question mark would go inside the quote even if X is not itself a question. It's not logical, but people are still sometimes taught to use it, so what u_n_t wrote isn't actually incorrect, although these days that style is less used because it causes exactly this kind of confusion. (grammar pedant mode off)

["работать на" + accusative] has slightly unpleasant connotations; it is ok for a person - I'm working for a boss - я работаю на начальника. it is also ok for some spy cases, e.g., to work for a secret service - работать на разведку.

["работать в" + prepositional] - is neutral for such places as magazine, office, restaraunt.

["работать на" + prepositional] - is ok for some places, like 'to work on a petrol station' - работать на заправке. I think there is no rule, it is a question of compatibility. as for abstract, I think your teacher may have meant something like работать на производстве (prepositional - to work on factory, to be a production worker) or работать на благо Родины (accusative - to work for the sake of homeland)
