english and russian subtitles for russian films

Does anyone know where I can download English and/or Russian subtitles for Russian films in .avi format?  I'm not totally lost without the subtitles but I'm watching a bunch of Soviet films for a film class and it would help with the analysis and picking up some new vocabulary.

In .avi - no.

But in standard subtitles format - yes.

Try subtitry.ru, it describes, how to addsubtitles to *.avi (my solution is free program Light Alloy) or DVD.

In "Субтитры" section it has Russian subtitles for foreign movies, translated into Russian, and for Russian movies.

It also has some amount of Russian subtitles, translated into English: http://subtitry.ru/subs/ENG/ .
