In Russian, nationalities do not begin with a capital letter. Though in this tongue twister it may be a nickname :)

Yes, I was able to pronounce them!

I have found that it is sometimes easier for people to do tongue twisters in a second language than it is for people in their first language BECAUSE they don't necessarily expect certain sounds to happen together, so they are simply saying each sound as it comes.

At least I noticed that with my Japanese students and English tongue twisters.

Yeah--Алёна had a hard time spitting it out. She kept messing up her щ/с too. It was really funny.

Some kinds of tongue twisters are unpronounceable nor by native speakers neither by learners, though. For Russian it is long words with stress somewhere in its beginning; may be Finnish, Czech, Hungarian and Slovak speakers do not encounter any difficulties, but I've noticed that English-, Spanish- and Serbian-speaking people usually hardly can pronounce something like "корабли лавировали, лавировали да не вылавировали" or "пиджаки с переподвыподвертами" :)

I think it's not a nickname, but an obsolete form of what's now "грек". Similarly, there once was "турка" instead of "турок". Both definitely aren't in use nowadays.

Actually, I did not find these difficult to read at all; probably for the very reason you cite. My tongue does not anticipate and I simply read what I see. They're fun to read, however!
