To be honest, my english sucks hard. If you have the same problem with you russian, I can suggest you  to exchange icq numbers and chat for a while.

to my mind, only live conversation can really improve language skills.

Good idea! I tried to find English tutor in Skype, but only get boys from Turkey and Germany with sexual problem.:))

My suggestions:
- read a lot in English: news, books, technical documentation if you're into something like computer programming
- find some English-speaking newsgroups/forums where people share on their interests and hobbies and actively participate
- listen to the radio and internet radio, e.g. BBC
- find and watch movies, news, educational material, etc on the internet

This far I haven't had good experience with pen pals or chat buddies on IM's. It appears to be very hard to find a really committed person who takes it seriously and tries to find answers to not very simple questions and who does the offered exercises. At the same time I've never been organized enough to plan certain things and stick to the plan and time schedule. So, there may be some fault on my part too.

Anyhow, you're at about the right age to finally learn English. At your age I had pathetic English skills, but through my hobbies and internet in about 3 years I learned a lot more than all English classes combined (at school and uni) had taught me.

I see you're a member of a lot of ru_/_ru communities. Instead of those use equivalent English-speaking ones. That'll be a good start.

i usually watch South Park, Family Guy and other movies without translation. the same with books. i can read and understand information and even speak well. i just can't wrtite properly)

I'm trying to find native speaker English for conversations and I don't have Hebrew keyboard. That is the reаson why I prefer Skype, because that way I can speak and listen.

Translate - It is that I'd like to find. I need speaking-listening English, therefor I prefer Skype. But in Skype come men with sexual problem there is nobody to talk to.
