Hi all,
I need to create a sort of shortened family tree with descriptions of each member. Here is what I have so far, if anyone could proofread, especially for correct use of the various cases, I would be so appreciative.

мать -
Это моя мать. Её зовут Карен и живёт и работает в Нью-Джерсий. Она учительница, но скоро будут на пенсии. Сейчас она не замужем, но у неё есть два детей: я и моя сестра. Её родители, мои бабушка и дедушка, русские, но она родилась в Америке и только немного говорит по-русски.
(This is my mom. Her name is Karen and she lives and works in New Jersey. She is a teacher, but soon she will be retired. Now she isn't married, but has two children: my sister and I. Her parents, my grandmother and grandfather, are Russian, but she was born in America and only speaks a little Russian.)

Отец -
Это мой отец. Он ирландец и родился в Калифорний. Когда был восемнадцать лет (взрослый), он двигался в восток где он встретился его жену, моя мать. Сейчас, я живу с ним в Нью-Джерсий. У него есть три детей: две дочери, я и моя сестра, и один сын.
(This is my father. He is Irish and was born in California. When he was 18 (an adult), he moved to the east where he met his wife, my mom. Now I live with him in New Jersey.)

Сестра -
Это моя сестра. Она очень умная и учится в университете, Ридер, со мной. Мы учимся на первом курсе, но я изучаю славянские языки a она изучает английский язык и литературу. Она любит писать и читать книги, и хочет быть автора.
(This is my sister. She is very intelligent and studies in university with me. We are in freshman year, but I study slavic languages and she studies english language and literature. She likes to write and read books, and wants to be an author.)

Брат -
Это мой брат Саша. Родился и вырос в Нью-Джерсий. Когда был девять лет, он пошел жить во Флориде с его матерью. В университете, он изучал компьютерная техника. Сейчас, ещё живёт во Флориде и работает с компьютерами в больнице.
(This is my brother Sasha. He was born in and grew up in New Jersey. When he was 9 years old, he went to live in Florida with his mother. In university, he studies computer science. Now, he still lives in Florida and works with computers in a hospital.)

I'm also unsure on some things, I want to say:
-"My sister and I were from my father's second marriage and my brother is from his first marriage."
-"My brother is 5 years older than me."
-"I miss him a lot but he visits around once a year."

у неё есть два детей - I think this might be двоедетей

он изучал компьютерная техника - since this is accusative case (a direct object is taking an action) it would be компьютерную технику

what is "в университете, Ридер, со мной"? does not make any sense

Сейчас, я живу с ним в Нью-Джерсий. У него есть три трое детей: две дочери — я и моя сестра — и один сын.

No comma needed after "сейчас". Introductory elements specifying time generally are not set off by commas in Russian.
