Gas and Electric Vocabulary

I thank you kind persons for your help last week with my tutoring problem. Now my question is: where can I find English vocabulary related to factory gas and electrical matters with corresponding Cyrillic translations? Is this an impossible quest? My tutee works in a cement factory, and is in charge of safety. He needs English vocabulary relating to the factory's gas and electrical systems, and I need to be able to teach them to him, hence the need for Cyrillic. I suppose even pictures would work. I will search for pictures for such terms. In the mean time, I thank you for any useful words you can offer!

Let's say I wanted to learn the Russian words for these things. Where would I look? Perhaps I can reverse it.

I know there's a bunch of people on this community who have some negative feelings about Lingvo and its reliability (although i personally can't imagine life without it), but if you download a free trial from lingvo.ru it has technical dictionaries for that kind of thing.

Looking at this page, and keeping in mind that I do not know Cyrillic at all, which one would you recommend? I'm thinking I should refer my student to this site, and that he would fare better with it than I would.

As a first step, I would suggest learning the Cyrillic alphabet. It'll make everything else easier.

IMO, learning cyrillic is easier and more useful than transliterating everything back and forth. learning cyrillic is really, really easy and i don't see why people are intimidated by it. just get a beginning russian book out of the library or something.
