Же is an analogue to German 'doch' or French 'donc', but unfortunately has no analogue in English... I usually translate it with 'why' when I have to (Why, it's a holiday!) but I don't know whether it works properly here.

Must be the Japanese idea of vodka... at least, some sorts of non-distilled Chinese rice vodka, huangjiu, are dark brown!
BTW this could be not just plain vodka, but a наливка - those, in fact, can be of a wide variety of colors, from whiskey-like golden to almost black or deep brown.

I'm only kidding, of course. I have postitvely no idea why vodka is portrayed black here :)
