Privyet! long time, no speak, I know.

What is the best way to say "furnished with ___"? I'm guessing it's something with творительный падеж, but does the expression need a preposition?

Also, do furnished apartments exist in Russia, or is that another slice of American craziness?

Thanks for your help!

меблирован/меблированный чем-либо?

Furnished apartments definitely exist. But while "furnished apartment" would be "меблированная квартира", "furnished with smth." is usually said "обставленный(ая) чем-либо".

+1

E.g.
I rented a furnished apartment - Я снял меблированную квартиру.
The apartment is furnished with imported furniture - Квартира обставлена импортной мебелью.

In fact most appartments for rent are furnished
I've rented a few places though this agency http://www.incom.ru/
Unlike many others, they don't take any fee for the actual search, but as all the other agencies I've been in touch with they will take a commission of 100% of the monthly rent directly upon signature of the contract.

Any kitchen in Russia has a sink, it comes with the brand new apartment, as well as a toilet, a bathtub, and a stove (either gas or electric.) Refrigerator is another story, the tenant is expected to have one of his own. No new apatments (be that in municipal -- city-owned -- or privately built houses) come furnished, and none of them have a fridge, you have to buy one yourself (as well as the furniture.) If you subrent an apartment from somebody else, that's another story; a subrented apartment is, most likely, furnished, including a fridge.

There is a legal difference between rent and subrent. If you subrent them, then they are furnished. Anyway, a foreigner would subrent an apartment in 100 per cent cases, since the direct rent from the city is only possible for the locals.
