Hello everybody!
I'm a long-time lurker, first time poster. I'm in British Columbia, Canada and have been studying Russian for the last three years. I went on a 6 week study trip to Kiev last summer, and am looking at a couple of options for going to Russia next summer. I was originally planning on going with a university group (my university doesn't really offer any trips so I was looking at other universities) but came across the website www.russian-in-russia.com. I haven't been able to find anything good (or bad) about them except for the testimonials on their own site. Has anybody had any experiences with them? I don't want to pay a large of sum of money just to find upon arrival in Russia that I have no place to stay and that the company ran off with it! :D It would be ideal, as I could chose from a couple of places, and could chose the length of the trip.

Any feedback would be great.

Спасибо!

hi johnny:) BTW, I also agree with hospitality club, although usually you can only stay with people for a very short time, while travelling. But if you ask around HC, you are sure to find some good help.

Hi.
There are some low cost hostels in Moscow, St.Petersburg and other cities in Russia.
Look here http://www.russia-hostelling.ru/rus/hostels.php#c2 This is a list of hostels (in Russian)
It's good idea to book the room before come to Russia.
Good Luck!

I know that the American Council of Teachers of Russian also run really good and very well known programs. The list of exchanges they do is here (http://www.americancouncils.org/program_list.asp?PageID=30#US). You might also consider Middlebury College's programs. Quite pricy, but absolutely top notch.

Здравствуйте!
