What's the blanket term for Instant Messenger in Russian? What's the preferred IM of Russians? What's the verb: "to instant message"?

Messenger будет мессенджер - not terribly original. :) Mosr Russian speakers prefer ICQ, which they call "аська" or "ася". Beat me if I know why - it's the worsest possible messenger in my opinion. Or, probably, they share the last place with AIM...

(Перезагрузить is a transitive action: перезагрузить систему; перезагрузиться is more colloquial and used when you simply say "reboot" with no object.)
