May someone provide an explanation and examples as to how to use точно as opposed to точнее? I always see "Actually, I..." as "точнее, я..." but now I'm not so sure that's right. Thanks!

I'd prefer "На самом деле, я..." for "Actually, I..." or "In fact, I..."
"Точнее, ..." looks more like "More precisely, ..."

as used here "точнее" would be
rather
, whereas
actually
is "фактически" or "на самом деле". at least I think so :)))
what do you mean with ?
sorry...

'as opposed to' here means 'instead of'. So, the poster is asking when to use "точно" and when to use "точнее".

- Я приду.
- Точно?
- Конечно! Точно приду!
("I'm going to come." - "For sure?" - "Of course! Sure I'll come!")
- Я приду в два, точнее, в два пятнадцать...
- А еще точнее?
- Ну, в два двадцать, самое позднее...
("I'm going to come at two o'clock, or rather at quarter past two.." - "Can you say it more precisely?" - "Well, at two-twenty, the very latest..."

Точно - sure, surely, for sure.
- Ты точно не придёшь? - Are you sure you are not coming?
- Точно. - Sure.
Точнее - to be more precise.
Прибор сразу сломался. Точнее, после пяти минут работы.
The device broke right away. To be more precise, after five minutes of work.
