sorry, my professor didn't put the right spelling on the lyrics she gave us. mistakes are my forte, i have "the russian of a first grader" after all...
Speaking of which. I can't give you the song you asked for, but I have quite a few of old soviet stuff, and some of semi-new rock stuff on an ftp. Interested? :D
Here (ftp://217.172.24.162/Music/new/Kobzon_-_And_Lenin_Is_So_Young.mp3)'s a really good song, that's quite a bit better then what you was asking for, as far as russian is concerned...
My opinion about learning Russian by listening to kirkorov's song would contain some words and expressions you probably didn't learn yet :) So I'll keep my thoughts with me :)
As for songs, old soviet songs would be much more interesting anyway. Or at least get some tatu tracks :)
i'm really into tatu, but at the end of a full year of Russian every day, I understand quite a bit. It's suprising to think about all the shit that I can remember
no, she's Russian so she likes to expose us to music, cartoons, tv and such. We watch a lot of some Russian channel on satellite. It's a lot more fun than just conjugating verbs since we have class for more than 4 hours a week.
I didn't say that having acquaintance with modern Russian culture is bad. Also, I agree that watching Russian tv is much more pleasant pastime then conjugating verbs (and probably better for learning Russian). I just said that Kirkorov is maybe worst phenomenon in Russian culture, so he is not worth the attention to observe. In my view, you better conjugate verbs for 4 hours a week then scrutinize Kirkorov's songs (here you can see what a low opinion I have about him, and this is not only my subjective opinion, for the most part it's thuth). Properly speaking, I don't care a damn about Kirkorov, I worry over what can think foreigners, including yourself, about Russian culture having of one of this terrible Russian pop singers like Kirkorov, this shame of Russia. :(((
To tell the truth, there are many other singers in Russia, much better then that Kir-freakin'-korov (if you're interesting, I can tell you some concrete names). Of course, the lyrics of their songs are not so primitive as "Зайка моя" - and no so easy for understanding by foreigner (especially by foreigner, badly speaking in Russian); but I believe that anyway, anyhow, for anyone and everyone, learning those lyrics are incomparably better than Kirkorov's, if it is possible to speak about the good of learning Kirkorov's lyrics. So I can tell you that as a Russian; and maybe I put my own ideas into English words no so good, but I gain some understanding in Russian music.

зайка - bunny rabbit and whatnot.
Your request is all fine, but I thought it might be interesting to mention that. :)

Tatu lyrics is very well designed anyway. Prooly the real stars of tatu were actually their manager (Shapovalov) and the songwriter.
