I have something of a strange request...

I have to find a two page article to translate for my media studies/translation class... The thing is, it needs to be as erudite, convoluted and long winded as possible and have something to do with current Russian politics.

Any suggestions?

Коммерсантъ (http://www.kommersant.ru/) is usually quite erudite. Not sure about convoluted, but you ought to be able to find a number of relevant, longish articles there.

"Еженедельный журнал" (http://www.ej.ru/) is a liberal-wing Russian magazine covering politics, economics, culture, etc. It's definetely easier for translation than Vedomosti or Kommersant (business papers), but still very informative and well-written.

Note that this publication does not exist as a printed magazine anymore, only as a Web site. There still is a couple of well-written articles, though.
