Russian fairytales

I found these websites while browsing Metafilter:

This site has a few Russian fairy tales in English, with beautiful illustrations. The writing is a little awkward, but it's still readable if you're interested.

This site has some more fairytales, but they're all in Russian. It has illustrations too. It might be good for practice.

It seems to me that Russian fairy tales aren't easiest reading for non-native speakers - there's quite archaic language there. I'd better choose modern prose for language practice.

That's true, they are intentionally archaic. Well, they are usually also just old :)
