Okay, here's another question for you. Slang, this time. How do you say "lame" in Russian? Not the "Oh no, the poor bunny has a lame foot!" But rather "Dammit, my computer is so lame compared to your kickass laptop."

this ain't necessarily so that smb's toyota is crappy.
it could be just too old, squalid and just like that.
"калечный" has a verb "калечить" as a root actually, but means smth like "wretched", "bad", "pitiable".

I understand, the question was not about keeping its straight meaning but rather about saying 'lame' in a slang way.
"отстойный" / "отстой" is the best variant I can think of

Well I can offer you some variants, too...
1. Мой комп по сравнению с твоим лэптопом курит в углу (курит в коридоре; also can say "срёт в углу", but it's quite rude).
2. Мой комп у твоего лэптопа (конкретно) отсасывает. ( = my comp sucks)
3. Lame can be translated as "ущербный". This variant is ok to use in formal speech but it would sound a little bit old-fashioned. "Мой компьютер ущербный по сравнению с твоим лэптопом."

I think word "убогий" serves your needs ;-)

It can be used to beggars (usually crippled), any very poorly and very pity looking person.

But it's usually simply used for poor quality of smth. "Тачка убогая" ("Car's lame" or even, btw, "Comp[uter]'s lame")
