you should have cyrillic fonts, and maybe you should use an operative system (windows i guess) which supports cyrillic. For example Windows XP with Multilingual (MUI) pack. But I may be wrong :)
If you're planning on using some software with Russian characters in the menus, dialog windows, etc., you gotta change your regional settings (regional and language options in the Control Panel menu in Win2000/XP). In Win XP a third tab of this option allows you to select a language for non-Unicode programs. There you should select Russian, restart your computer and your problem should be fixed. If not, let me know, but I believe it should solve it. In browsers, you gotta select the correct text encoding for a web page. It's typically either Win-1251 or KOI-8 RU. Hope that helps.
