Ok, so this is awfully lazy of me to use this list when I have a whole city...

But...well that's almost half the problem. I don't know where to start.

Plus I have a few issues. My level is somewhere around elementary/pre-intermediate depending on the school standards...I can understand a lot but my grammar is awful.

Many classes I've come accross are either too high level, or beginners. I am neither which I've discovered makes me very difficult to place.

I want a class. Not a one-to-one. I've tried one-to-one and I'm just a bad student in that situation - I need to be in a group, so when I don't do my homework, it's my loss and the lesson isn't held up on my behalf.

And I need to have the class in the mornings. Finishing by midday at the latest.

So. Suggestions? I know that MGU is meant to be good...but...well...I wouldn't even know where exactly to go. Reconmendations for other places? I really wanted to make a go of it this year, but with work and everything else it might land up being next to impossible *sigh*

Try BKC-Globus. (095)737-52-25 Sadly, they don't have an English version of their website.

I don't know how you'd get in touch with her, but the woman who teaches English to the University of California program at MGU is very good with grammar. Maybe you could go there (the one at Universitet, not the building in the city center) and ask? I wish I could remember her name right now, I think it's Ludmila. There is information online about MGU's English program, and you should be able to find it easily.

As an alternative to MGU, you might consider МКЦ-Bauman. They're another "big" Moscow school and while more a technical/engineering school they should offer language courses as well. I did an youth academic exchange program through Bauman in '94 and it worked out beautifully.
