My friend from Belarus had a package of Russian cookies (don't know from where) that each said "печенье маленька страна." I'm just started learning Russian but I understood that to mean "a cookie is a little country" and she said that was right. But my question is- what does that mean? Is it an idiom or am I just completely missing the point? What do cookies have to do with countries of any size...? Maybe I'm reading too far into it. I'm just curious to know if that is a normal thing to put on a Russian cookie. Thanks for any light you can shine on my confusion...
