Jul. 27th, 2004 09:33 pmHello! I've been learning Russian for a year at school, and instead of that sating my interest, it's just been getting worse, as I'm sure you all understand. Still, somehow it only just struck me to look for livejournal communities :)
I've already got a question: is there a good Russian/English dictionary you'd recommend? I have the Oxford Starter Russian dictionary and it's terrible, it's got so few words that it's useless for translating even grammatically simple song lyrics. I'd really appreciate any advice. Thanks.

Date: 2004-07-28 04:23 pm (UTC)This sentence, unfortunately, doesn't sound correct.
"на" gives an impression that you direct someone somewhere.
Like: "направляю вас на курсы русского языка!" - I'm sending you to Russian language courses.
Did you mean something like:
Поздравляю вас с началом изучения русского языка!
