Hi, I just joined because I want to learn another language besides french. My brother is going to work in Russia, so I'm going to try and impress him a little XD. I know the basics of Finnish so maybe that'll help?. I think I'll just look around at the links in the userinfo and keep this on my friends page for good measure.

I'd hate to upset you, but Finnish won't help. :)

Russian is a Slavic language, and Finnish is a Finno-Ugric one (apples and oranges).

it's not common...:) and it's not abbusive, it's boring. teache didnt know language and lessons were boring. i didnt bring out anything from school. when teacher knows the subject and first of all knows how to explain it. in us school too many freedoms, no wonders level of edication is so low... it's your problem guys, your freedom isnt result of needs its an anarchy..;)

i'm inclined to agree with you there. too much freedom has resulted in overall apathy and lack of education. as sad as it may be...

btw, you can type russian letters without russian keyboard on your pc (as i do all the time when i type from my work place), use this link: http://www.translit.ru/ they also check your spelling and offer a few dictionaries...
